  1. I think it's because Disney was only retelling Mulan's story, while they pretty much created Anna & Elsa's.

  2. I think she should be a feminist icon
I've seen the real movie and she is as much as a faminist there as she is in the Disney movie

  3. Amelia F. Jones Yeah, but what actually happened in the Snow Queen was that Elsa was the evil one and the main character was a boy

  4. First off its disney/hollywood they never get the story right. But I think Mulan is a great role model... but they could also be jealous because she ends up getting a guy in the end. But people are failing to see she didn't need his help bec she was strong and independent. Plus, when she needed help she didn't hesitate to ask for it and that also makes a person strong.

  5. Numbuh7 KND frozen was also based on another story. The snow queen. So no they didn't exactly "create" it, but they did take a story and remake it to fit their message/ideal which is what Disney loves to do lol.

  6. No guys, what I'm saying is that they had to create so much of what went into frozen because the original story was so vastly different... I said "pretty much" for a reason

  9. Although Mulan is my favorite Disney character I can see how there are many more too, like princess kida, with Pocahontas it was completely messed up by the second movie, Anna and Elsa (In my opinion) didn't face as many struggles, true they were sent into isolation by their idiotic parents but honestly I feel they are a bit thick, either way Mulan had risen from a very female prejudiced China and fought in a dam war. Though disney greatly left out much of her heroism (she fought for 12 years not less than a week as the flower suggested) and her life still ended tragically. In the old chinese legends at least. She was much more cunning than Anna and Elsa and much more brave. Come on, Anna was climbing up a mountain in search for a sister she clearly knew wanted to be left alone. It wasn't that heroic, and she still did need the help of a man to guide her up the mountain and though she made the decision herself how hard is that? "Oh Imma go mountain climbing after my sister." Whereas Mulan wanted to save her father from his evident death if he were to fight in another war. So think about it. People might not like Mulan because she's Chinese but she deserves much more credit for her deeds. Anna and elsa really didn't do much, they were put on the defensive, which once you think about it is not a very heroic thing. And to anybody who disagrees with me feel free to have a lively debate with me I do enjoy them.
