ReplyDeleteThe Selection. I read and HATED Legend. I tried to like it but it was just...no lol. And this is coming from someone who LOVES dystopian. It was shocking that I didn't like it. Oh well.

ReplyDeleteThe Selection series is literally a story about a love triangle between Maxon, Aspen and America which eventually turns into solid love between Maxon and America when Aspen goes for Lucy instead. And then they love. The end.
BUT, Legend is about a conflict between two nations, and two people who struggle to love while a war rages on. The problem is, they're supposed to be working against each other. Later on, they have to stop the war. And then the love comes to a tragic halt when Day's memory is wiped of recent events, but he still manages to cling onto a small shred of the memory of June...
So, I'm terrible at summaries and probably forgot to include a ton of details, but Legend clearly has a better plot compared to The Selection. No offense...

ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't understand why the Selection has more votes. It's a mediocre series with a stupid protagonist, and the plot could have been wrapped up in one book, while the Legend trilogy exhibits excellent worldbuilding, two strong leads, and an actual plotline. SMH.
ReplyDeleteJesus! I didn't expect so many people to get worked up over a poll, lol. Everyone has their own opinions. And their are quite a few people who doesn't like The Selection and Legend, lol. I simply just couldn't get into the writing style and it was just another dystopian novel I wasn't in the mood for. Also, the love just came out of nowhere almost like it was forced. Yea, I agree America was a brat, which is why I was tempted to not even vote. But Holy Mother Of Muggle Toes! Lol
ReplyDeleteWhy are you people hating on the other series??? This is not what fandoms are about. I haven't read the Legend (I want to) but I have the Selection and it is good. Nothing gives you the right to hate on a book series just because you're not into romance. It is amazing, and I'm sure the Legend is too. Stop the hate already, there's no point in comparing two different sub genres
