I love Legolas in Battle of Five Armies!!!! He's quite good looking ;)

SPOILERS FOR BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES

 I'm so glad that he survived and kind of got a happy ending. He did come to terms with his father though and that was great! He did love Tauriel loads but I love her and Kili together loads and loads!

    I'm 97% sure she doesn't go back to Mirkwood. All this time through DOS and BOFA she always wants to leave it and be free from its suffocating atmosphere. She opened herself to Kili, telling him stories of the world and wonders of starlight. It's where she wants to be... free to dream and free from responsibilities and pain. After his death, I imagine she kept the little stone token he gave her and always kept it...for luck. I'm hoping she attended his funeral despite the questioning looks and jeers from the dwarves, possibly even speaking shortly with his mother, Dis. And then she would leave. She wouldn't follow Legolas because those times are over. As an independent soul I think she would wander Middle-Earth silently remembering and mourning Kili whenever she saw a fire moon. Maybe she would visit Mirkwood, visit Erebor and stay by his tomb. She might even visit the Shire briefly to see the unusually brave Hobbits.
    We might receive closure and clarification in the EE! :D Evangeline Lily admitted there was a final scene with Tauriel that emotionally wrapped you up.
