I loved it!!! I wish there was a little bit more back story. But the animals were amazing. The effects were too. I think credence (sorry if misspelled) should have had a second chance. I was glad that newt said he would help. It was an amazing twist when he was really Grindelwald. I don't think any of us were expecting that, even when he gave credence the necklace. I though he was only working with Grindelwald. But I always knew something was off with him at the beginning. I saw a little smirk and though yup he's a bad guy.

IN CONCLUSION, IT WAS FANTASTIC.
I loved it! Though it was more like "Paranormal Activity" than "Harry Potter", the connection was quite cool. I loved the plot twist at the end, and I think that Mr. Redmayne portrayed Newt perfectly:)

I loved the overall darker but in some ways chipper tones of the movie. The balance between dark and fun was amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat last scene when Graves (Grindelwald) was fending off so many Aurors at the same time and still winning was absolutely amazing. It shows how insanely powerful he is and the final fight with Dumbledore would be epic!
All the creatures were so adorable! And so was Newt!
A.Z. Chapman Well, we are getting 4 sequels. Might get some more backstory there.

That Johnny Depp-Grindlewald transformation at the end was mind blowing!!

ReplyDeleteI loved the movie but the people behind me were talking constantly and the person in front of me was on his phone and I wanted to hit them so badly. WHY DID THEY COME TO THE MOVIE IF THEY DIDN'T WASN'T TO SEE IT?!
ReplyDeleteHyorim Choi Newt and Tina do get together! Way before they decided to make a Fantastic Beasts movie, it was said that Newt was married to Porpentina Goldstein.
ReplyDeleteI was so confused when he gave the Deathly Hallows necklace to him at first. I almost shouted out loud at the theatre when I found out about Grindlewald. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT ONES!!!!
ReplyDeleteI liked the characters, I always wanted there to be a Muggle character in Harry Potter who wasn't horrible and was in fact capable in their own way while being likable.
ReplyDeleteHas their ever been a telepath character in the franchise before?
And finally, Newt was a great character, he reminds me of one of my best guy friends, doesn't like to talk much about himself but willing to talk about his favorite topic (which just happens to be Pokemon, so that is sort of parallel too,) nice but awkward, not into lots of eye contact.
On a different note about the main character--these days it is extremely common for fictional characters to be very overpowered, capable of withstanding ridiculous amounts of physical impact, and practically everyone is a veritable combat master! I loved it that Newt could be a well-received main character in an adventure movie who is not great at fighting. The Golden Trio would probably have been more successful at the fights, whereas Newt is in over his head and loses. His willingness to become involved anyway is quite inspiring.
P.S. Was anyone else becoming upset just from hearing how distressed Newt was when the MACUSA people took his case?

ReplyDeleteI loved it, personally! I didn't think that Graves was Grindelwald, only a follower. I'm interested what happened to the real one, though - it's obvious he's alive, as Grindelwald used Polyjuice potion... Wonder if we'll see him.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder if Grindelwald was really a friend with Dumbledore or was using him to get to Arianna. It's obvious she's an obscuruse (might not be the correct spelling). The question is if that's how Grindelwald found out about them or he befriended Dumbledore to get to him....
And I'm also 60% sure Jacob didn't lose his memory - the creature that bit him is known to increase resistance to spells. And the last scene... He didn't react like someone who lost their memory!
Briana Bennett I almost cried in the theater when he started shouting, "Don't hurt them, they're not dangerous!!" That scene broke my heart 💔💔

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the movie!
ReplyDeleteI was taken aback when I realized that the movie was quite an it darker than the trailers made it seem. But I think that that was a really good decision, as it gave the story a real depth to it. It also showed that you can have a movie targeted at teenagers and adults without having an adult scene in it.
I really loved the chemistry between Queenie and Jacob! I just kept thinking that they should move to London and everything will be ok!
Jacob Kolowski is just an overall perfect human being!
Newt Scamander is a cinnamon roll.
I didn't really enjoy the one-sidedness to Tina. I hope that in the next few movies she develops more of a character than being a very (extremely) loyal MCUSA agent. I kind of want to see her rebel.
And the scene when newt is yelling that none of his creatures are dangerous broke my heart into a million pieces! It came close to the amount of damage it sustained when dobby died!
And last but certainly not least, that little johnny depp cameo was perfect! I think he will play an amazing grindlewald!

PLEASE DON'T READ THIS COMMENT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE YET! I loved every single part of of the movie! The best parts were there was the niffler and the nomag(muggle). I was a bit worried the movie was going to dark and a bit gloomy but I was wrong. I laughed a lot and couldn't keep myself from laughing. I was totally shocked about Gellert and Jonny Depp, I couldn't believe myself the moment I saw the Deathly Hallows mark I was going coco. I kept gasping and pointing while the people looked at me like I was crazy, but I couldn't care less. I didn't know it was going to be Gellert appearing I thought maybe someone else like Harry Potter perhaps it was a lost hope I knew it but I wanted to believe it for some reason. However I loved that they at least mentioned Dumbledore and Hogwarts. My favorite moment was when they were trying to find the lost beasts especially the niffler I also loved the part with the bakery and when Newt and the muggle went inside the case. I hope you all liked it. PLEASE DON'T READ THIS COMMENT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE YET!

As a Hufflepuff myself, it's amazing that Newt and Eddie Redmayne are Hufflepuffs too. Maybe finally we could be treated equally, and not be thought of as the house where people go if they are not good enough for the other houses.
Eileen Zhang I totally agree I myself is a Gryffindor but I made another account on Pottermore so I can get Huffelpuff and I did. Now I have true Hufflepuff Pride!

Eileen Zhang I think they they are perfect for Hufflepuff because I think they embody the values of Hufflepuff, fierce loyalty and a kind heart. ( Speaking as a ravenclaw)
