"The Last Time War," I say softly. "They say you ain't seen a battlefield like it," I continue, setting my sonic screwdriver on the table in front of me. "They're right."
"But nothing is as bad as the Twilight Wars," I say, my voice cracking. I let my gaze drop to the floor as the memories flash through me. The blood, the cries, the pain...

and the shipping wars... the wars... They can start just by saying something as simple as "aww! he loves her!" They they come... Swifter than a coursing river... with all the force of a typhoon... stronger than a raging fire...

I look up from my seat alone in a corner booth, "I thought I was safe," I say as I expertly shuffle a deck of cards. "Stayed out of the wars. Didn't much care for the issues at hand, didn't much care who won." Casually I deal out a game of Solitaire, "Found a home in the relatively neutral fandom of Star Wars, where I thought the strife would never touch me." Sadly, I rest my chin on my hand and stare absently into space. "Then I said I really enjoyed the Prequel Trilogy." The few cards still in my hand slip out of my fingers and flutter to the tabletop. "Turns out my beliefs were unacceptable in the fandom, and I was banished to wander the world alone..."
"Where did you serve?" "Bakers Street," I answered. "People we dying left and right and they couldn't stay dead. They would jump off buildings to end it but Moffat kept them alive. For once Moffat kept somebody alive."
I look up from a barstool in the front. "I served on the Homestuck front." I grimaced. "Everyone died. All around me. Blood stained my clothes, clogged my mouth. It was horror. But every time I tried to end it, Hussie brought me back. It was all because I shipped Dirk and Jake..." Shivering, I set down a polished gun. "It was terrifying."
"And then I served on the Hetalia front" I smile sadly as I walk over. "Watched as people tore each other apart because of FrUk and USUK. I myself couldn't choose, so I tried to stay out of it. Found a place for people like me. But they found us. Th-They did horrible things." I rub my arm self-consiously, running my fingers over old scars. "They didn't let you surrender."
Wasn't in the First Galactic Ship War, though. There are stories about what happned between LukeLeia, HanLeia, and LukeHan. OG: "It's true. All of it."
Pretty sure half of you all are going to jump on me and you know, that sort of proves how bad it is on the Star Wars front right now. I ship Ben and Rey.
Hey y'all! Like I said in my last post, I would still love to keep in contact with anyone who's willing through my personal accounts on other platforms. So, as promised, here are some of my social media links. (The first few are more active than the rest, but I do use all of them pretty consistently, even if I don't post that often.) Please feel free to follow me, and I'll follow you back if you don't look suspicious. :) (You can also +1 or comment your profile name in this post so I know who you are.) [removed] Anyway, to follow up on my previous post... I've been scrolling through tons of old G+ posts for the past few days and thinking a lot about this page, and I've come to this conclusion: I don't think I (or any of the other managers) will be actively trying to continue this page on another social media platform. I've looked around at options like MeWe, which I've been hearing a lot about, and it seems like a great site, but I don't thin...
Hey all! Guess it’s almost time for us to say goodbye... Unfortunately, we’ve been pretty inactive for the past few months, but before that, Fandoms United and Google+ was a major part of my life for several years (and that’s an understatement). I invested countless hours (and days and weeks) in this page, but I don’t regret a single minute because I got to meet so many fantastic people. I’ll always treasure the experiences I had hosting annual contests and Fandom of the Weeks, interacting with all of you in the comments, and being part of a community that loved fandoms as much as I did. I’m so glad I stumbled upon Google+ and decided to start this page back in 2014 - I still can’t believe we were able to reach so many of you (probably thanks to my shameless self-promo in the early days). Thank you for everything. It’s truly been an honor. That said, here are our (currently also inactive but maybe not for long?) accounts on other social media platforms. If any of you have ideas for oth...

ReplyDeleteThese ship wars.... They tore apart friendships, killed families... And all anyone could do was watch it happen, 'cause if you joined, you died too.
