ReplyDeleteTHIS IS THE SADDEST LINE FROM BILBO. I USED TO MAKE FUN OF HIS LITTLE "no,no,no's" until THIS scene! Gosh DANGIT the feels. I remember when I saw LOTR and "The eagles are coming!" was a triumphant shout. Now they've turned it into a mourning statement. The Eagles saved the company in AUJ, saved Frodo and Sam in ROTK, and saved Gandalf. The one time the eagles didn't save Bilbo's loved ones was in BOFA because thorin was already dead.
